Directing Your Online Reputation For Success

Directing Your Online Reputation
Directing Your Online Reputation Strengthens Your Brand. Directing your online reputation is more important than ever to your personal success. Today 'Googling' someone or something has become a part of our everyday existence.  Although the weight of your online reputation varies from industry to industry, its beneficial to everyone who cares about their own brand to direct the messages being sent about them online . As you already know, every tweet, post, picture, blog post or comment you make on your social networking platforms can very well be seen by your future clients, recruiters, or hiring managers.  I'm a big supporter of in person networking. Yet, I understand the value in leveraging the opportunity to maximize your personal brand's reputation online. I've enjoyed a few informal...

I certainly do!  There is nothing better than waking up on a cold morning and making a style decision based on the weather and your mood for the day. While there are no limits of hassle free styles brandistas are currently rocking, here are my top 3 fuss free hair looks.  Wash & Go- I'm a wash and go girl. Once my locks are clean, I follow-up with a moisturizing slip conditioner and finger comb my detangles.  Next,  I rotate between a...

Landing Your Dream Job

Landing Your Dream Job
Landing Your Dream Job Shouldn't Feel Like A Dream. Landing your dream job, or having a dream career should be a top priority. We spend the vast majority of our days working and building a career for ourselves. Shouldn't we love what we do? I say so, and if you're like me, when you enjoy your work, it doesn't seem like work at all. Once you decide you deserve and want to do something you love doing, what's next? Tackling a job market that appears over saturated with candidates could at times seem too exhausting. But I suggest, until you land an opportunity that you love, approach the process like it's your full-time job. Face each opportunity with your best effort and 110%...

Natural DIY Face Wash

beauty_tips_TheBrandistaGuide
My New Favorite Natural DIY Face Wash. A natural DIY face wash is my favorite skin care indulgence. Journeying  into a minimalist skin care regime, I’ve tried to eliminate the amount of unnecessary and toxic products I'd been using in the past.  I got to a place where I felt it was necessary to eliminate the soaps and face washes I'd previously enjoyed testing that didn't leave my skin with the healthy feel and dewy look I was after. Through experiment, my favorite natural DIY face wash has become the “Honey Cleansing” method.  I discovered honey is a natural, non harsh way to remove dirt and impurities from your skin without stripping the skin of its natural oils like a lot of other facial cleansers. Honey...

Beauty Tips: Benefits of Oil Pulling

thebrandistaguide_oilpulling
Oil Pulling Offers Fabulous Beauty Tips To Start Using Now! Brandistas you’ve probably heard about the ancient Ayurvedic practice called “oil pulling.”  I first saw oil pulling covered on one of the daytime talk shows,  then I saw a story on the  local news in Chicago, and now it's all over  social media. So,  oil pulling is the method of swishing a natural oil in your mouth for 3-20 minutes in aims of  releasing mucous, bacteria, and toxins from your body through your saliva. Oil pulling comes from the ancient Indian medical system of Ayurveda,  meaning the knowledge of life. The Ayurveda practice is dedicated to healing the body with raw and natural ingredients from nature. In my research, I've uncovered an interesting  list...

My October Street Style

Street Style October
My October Street Style. I'm head over heels for October's denim street style. There are a myriad of fabulous denim ideas this fall, and just not enough time and places to rock them all. Whether I'm dressing for a super casual day around the office, or 'swanking' it up for a night on the town, denim is my go to staple. This season, the biggest rave about denim comes from pieces that aren't traditionally made from the fabric. Personally, I'm loving the rompers, unstructured purses, and baseball caps. All things considered, my new favorites are edgier denim trends: they breathe life into my existence. No secret, I love reworked, ripped, and ragged denim. And, oh-lala, I've discover a new favorite pair. Not only am...

Perfect Jumpsuit: Style Guide

The Perfect Jumpsuit
Paris And The Perfect Jumpsuit. I don't know if it's Paris itself, or my own obsession with the city and  shows featured at Paris Fashion Week, nonetheless, we're smack in the middle of it.  I've enjoyed watching my fair share of runway presentations.  My favorite part of the experience is cherry picking which niche-trend patterns featured, will eventually find their way into my wardrobe . Ta-da!  From there, I'll commit to a few staple pieces for the season. Season after season, that’s how it  pretty much works for me. A myriad of trends from Paris Fashion Week has my heart fluttering,  some standouts being military jackets, ruffles, more denim, jewel-toned velvet and one of my faves; the perfect jumpsuit! However, this season everything from the direction...

The Born Believer: Taraji P. Henson

Tariji P. Henson
Taraji P. Henson The Optimist As the solo child growing up in Southeast D.C. in the 80's, Taraji P. Henson recalls  being an extreme optimist during rather challenging times the actress and her mom faced throughout her childhood. Fast forward 30- something years later, and that optimism has certainly served Henson well over her twenty year career. Whether you fell in love with her work back in 2001 seeing her rock her role in Baby Boy, a few years later in Hustle & Flow, or  in 2008 when she killed the role of Queenie; the foster-mother to backward aging Brad Pit in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Her role as Queenie introduced Henson to the general market, and scored her an Oscar-nod. In 2010, she appeared in...
