Sigele Winbush Open Doors.
I enjoyed popping in at the Atlanta Ballet to catch up with their public relations manager, Sigele Winbush. On arrival for our chat, the studio was buzzing. There were little ballerinas prancing around from about 5 years old to twenty-something. Talk about a graceful, calm and peaceful ambiance. Ironically, Sigele herself happens to be quite graceful and contributed her own fair share of zen . Maybe it’s a prerequisite for the territory. I was thrilled to receive a tour of the studios were all the magic happens. After touring, the Sigele sat with me to catch me up on Helen Pickett’s world premier of Camino Real by Tennessee Williams. Not only did Sigele agree to sit on the panel for our Dream Big Conference, she was very graceful to provide other panelists with tickets to the opening. What a brandista! The performance premiered March 20-22 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and was by all accounts incredible. The Atlanta native and Hampton University graduate; is a connoisseur of the arts who finds great joy promoting and educating the public- season after season for the Ballet’s lineup.
Sigele Winbush Career Journey.
Winbush has always been conscious of building and protecting her personal brand. Having a father that was a career journalist, Sigele ultimately decided she understood the importance of great communications, and wanted a career similar to her dads. She weighed her college options before heading to Hampton University to pursue her formal education. In chatting with Winbush she shared insight on how her career path led to her role at the Atlanta Ballet; and where she spent her summers interning in Atlanta.
