Use Social Media To Build Your Brand, Business or Blog

Are you using social media to build your brand, business or blog?

Take your social media beyond the likes, shares and comments to convert your audience into customers to build your brand, business or blog.  I had an interesting conversation with a blogger friend who shared her frustration of not being able to convert her audience into customers. Now, not every blogger blogs for revenue. But, if you are you a blogger, business owner or influencer that would love to build your online audience, and increase sales using your social media consider these tips.  First, it’s important to get to know and understand your target audience so you can draw them in as opposed to chasing them.  A great rule of thumb is beginning by offering something of value instead of going right for the sale.  After establishing yourself as the expert and market leader in your industry, with consistent social engagement you will organically attract a higher caliber prospect. Why shoot for higher caliber prospects? Because eventually they will be eager to, and can afford to pay for your services.

Know the issues your audience face to build your brand, business or blog.

Consider the issues your audience, or potential target faces to build your brand, business or blog. What does success look like for them? Use this information: what they deem valuable, to share insight through your social media platforms to engage and build interest with them. As people begin showing interest in your expertise or services, your next step is to get their contact information. Sure, a lot of your audience will not be interested or ready to purchase on your first ask, but with their contact information you can nurture and build the relationship. At this point, consider starting with something of value in exchange for their contact information; things like a video series, an e-book or a discount code. A great way to create a lead magnet is to write down a few questions your prospects may ask, and build a lead generating Q & A answering those questions.  The goal is to secure their contact information so that you can continue to engage with them, and potentially market to them at a later time.

Sure, you can grow your following through organic media ,and I’m a big fan of organic audience building. However, if you’re eager to speed up your audience building process, consider using paid media. The ability to hyper-target your audience will make marketing to them on social media much more effective. You can find your ideal prospect based on location, age, net worth, profession and even their behaviors.  When and if you decide to invest in paid media, start small and test various versions of your ads to figure out which ones appeal the most to your audience. Consider testing both the images and the words you use.

Once you’ve engaged your audience through the consistent content your provide, built value in their minds,  and  gathered their contact information; you can begin to offer them your services. As you know, there are endless ways to convert your audience into customers, from hosting seminars to offering one-on-one consulting.  The beauty of maximizing social media is your ability to hyper-target, and gauge your audience’s interest to measure your results.

What cool ways are you using social media to build your brand,  business or blog?
