The Best Is Yet To Come

The best is yet to come
Yes, The Best Is Yet To Come! Wow brandistas, 2017 is blazing by but the best is yet to come. I welcomed the year with a clear mind and open heart. I accepted  great things were on the horizon and the best of life was within reach.  The best of: experiences, relationships, career success and most importantly our own beliefs we carry about ourselves. Time appears to be on fast forward since January 1st, and there are no signs of slow motion in the near future. Meanwhile,  before I go further into my thoughts on staying focus, and being committed to our goals for this year and your life; I'd like to reflect back upon 2016. Something interesting transpired with me the later...

The Born Believer: Taraji P. Henson

Tariji P. Henson
Taraji P. Henson The Optimist As the solo child growing up in Southeast D.C. in the 80's, Taraji P. Henson recalls  being an extreme optimist during rather challenging times the actress and her mom faced throughout her childhood. Fast forward 30- something years later, and that optimism has certainly served Henson well over her twenty year career. Whether you fell in love with her work back in 2001 seeing her rock her role in Baby Boy, a few years later in Hustle & Flow, or  in 2008 when she killed the role of Queenie; the foster-mother to backward aging Brad Pit in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Her role as Queenie introduced Henson to the general market, and scored her an Oscar-nod. In 2010, she appeared in...

Perfection: The Silent Dream Snatcher

Yes, I've said it. Perfection: The Silent Dream Snatcher!   Moments prior to almost blowing off what transpired into an adventurous evening downtown Chicago with Jala (my daughter) because of frustrations with everything; I pulled it together at the last-minute.  About a month ago I got sick leading to a routine of coming home from the office, eating, chatting with my family and hoping in bed.  After recognizing this new pattern of mine, Jala invited me for a girls evening out on her. Her planning it was enough to excite me alone; however, Tuesday rolled around and I just wasn't feeling it. My hair wasn't cute, my face was puffy and my energy was blah. Luckily, the little Taurus of mine persisted and we went out and had...

Women’s History Month: Celebrate Us

Women's History Month Is A Time For Reflection+ Refocus. Brandistas, it is Women's History Month, and I started the month reflecting on the incredible accomplishments the women in and around my life continues to make. Take a moment to reflect on your own life, where you started,  where you are now and your goals for the future. I'm sure you've achieved things you never dream were possible and I trust you will continue to do just that. As I think about what it means to be a women in America in 2016, I recognize a lot of responsibilities; but most importantly, a time for us to start living our dreams. Yes, there is nothing stopping us from pursuing those- I wish...

Legacy Of Excellance & 40 Pus Wonders: Gratitude

Hi Brandistas! Where has the time gone? Aside from building my own personal brand, helping others grow their brands, and loving and supporting my love ones; I've  just been really grateful. Over the last months, I found myself in situations that have left me reflective and grateful. Most recently,  I had the opportunity on behalf of Wade Ford to present the 2015 Fulton County Schools 'Teacher of the Year' and 'Principal of the Year' with  2016 Ford Focus Hybrids.  Having the ability to present at the Legacy of Excellence Awards granted me the opportunity to be in a ballroom amongst many of the top educators in the state of Georgia. That in itself was AMAZING for me. The positive energy, innovation...
