Meditation is great a practice to enhance your inner and outer beauty.
Brandistas, have you heard the phrase, ‘The more you mediate, the more you radiate?’ Well- it certainly reigns true for me. I’m not recommending you meditate solely for the glowing skin benefits but we can certainly count glowing as one of its numerous benefits.
Our skin is one of our most visible expressions of outer beauty. To achieve beauty outwardly, it’s helpful to be healthy internally—physically and emotionally. When you meditate it helps to improve your heart health and blood circulation, which in turn, contributes to a glowing complexion. Meditation improves your mood, and what’s more beautiful than a radiant smile? Plus, being emotionally stable keeps your cortisol and hormone levels at bay which helps in the prevention with acne.
Brandistas consider these 5 simple tips to get you started on your meditation journey.
Whether you sit on a chair or cross-legged on the floor, keep your spine upright with your head up. Pick a position that is comfortable for you and provides balance to you. If your body is well-balanced, your mind will be easier to balance. Stay straight, imaging your head is touching the sky.
In meditation to focus constitutes paying soft attention to what you place in the center of your awareness. You can focus on breath, an object, a positive thought or a question.
Thoughts will inevitably come to mind when you’re trying to focus. Don’t beat yourself up about it, that will distract you from the experience of mediating. When you notice thoughts, gently let them go by returning your focus to the breath, object, or your original thought.
Deep breathing is imperative to your success with mediation. Take a minute or two and intentionally inhale your breath slowing, allowing it to go deep and then release it slowing. Allowing your breath to flow naturally. This slow and deep breathing will help you transition your focus and begin to “zen-out”.
Ten minutes are a good starting place to begin your mediation journey. You will figure out if you can go longer or not, be patient as you train your mind to relax and release. There is no perfect amount of time for one to mediate. Do what works best for you in this moment of your life.
Find a quiet and peaceful place that is the most relaxing and peaceful for you. I enjoy mediating in open spaces like the outdoors, a sunroom or a spacious bedroom. Stay free of distractions. Feel free to enhance your experience with candles, flowers, or by placing personal symbolic things around you. Find what works best and soothes your soul the most.
