My Super Bowl Looks: Black+ Gray Strong

Super Bowl Looks

Time To Talk Super Bowl Looks.

I have my Super Bowl looks on deck, and I’m hype for Super Bowl 51 in Houston, Texas going down between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots in just two days.  As a football fan, Super Bowl and its celebratory events are fun, fashion- forward occasions I look forward to attending every year. Touching down yesterday afternoon, I could sense a heightened aura of excitement throughout Houston. People were already out  in their groups, bumping music, and  full of enthusiasm. After grabbing a rental car and checking in at the Westin Oaks around 6:30ish, casually dressed in a pair of green cargo pants and a fitted black tee, I headed over to  a quaint dinner  with my hubby at Del Frisco’s at The Galleria.  I capped the evening off with a chill lobster appetizer, a crab cake with a delicious curried yogurt sauce, and a perfect mojito cocktail.

Check this out,  ironically : ) in order to get to the Westin Oaks from the part of the hotel garage we parked in I had to walk through the The Galleria. As much as I’d like to think I’m a rational shopper, there’s something really special about a few of my favorite shopping spots, The Galleria being one of them. You know those shopping trips where you give yourself a budget and a timeframe only to blow both and start feeling a little guilty, but not guilty enough to call it a day. I gave myself a solid pep talking before leaving Chicago. I made sure to over pack so in good conscience I couldn’t find an excuse to center my trip around The Galleria. Instead I wanted to focus on the fun of celebrating the Atlanta Falcons playing in Super Bowl 51. Now with that, no doubt a girl’s style has to be point and as you know a big  part of having fun is looking and feeling good- regardless to where you are or what you’re doing.

My plan for the festivities this weekend consists of a little Galleria browsing (I’m getting it in early), a Falcons day party, a fundraiser event, Friday and Saturday night parties, and of course watching the big game. Figuring out my party gear was pretty simple. I opted to stay with an all black theme accentuated by a lovely pair of black Tom Ford over -the- knee boot with gold tips on the heels and a matching Chanel cross body bag. I’m thinking for the events, I’ll go between rocking a little black dress and distressed denim with a funky top.  For those outfits, I’m pouring on the arm candy, grabbing my gold hoops and there you have it, simple but oh- so chic!

My Fit For The Big Day.

So while most people will be fitted down in paraphernalia of their team, I’m going full on gray. Not sure the method behind what I’ll be rocking this Sunday other than it’s comfortable, cute, and I’m in love with my gray wool and cashmere blend Karen Millen coat and matching hat from Club Monaco. As a denim girl,  I’m going with a long-time favorite pair of tattered jeans that have been with me for a few years now. She’s earned her keep, and made her way to my top five favorite all time denim pieces. They’re a pair of 7 for all mankind skinny leg- distressed jeans. I’m pairing her with a gray cashmere hoodie from Banana Republic, and my favorite Karen Millen long-line gray coat. I’m absolutely in love with this coat, it’s everything a winter coat should be: buttoned tabs at the cuffs, seed-stitched wide notch collar, and patch pockets. The coat epitomizes modern elegance and I adore the look with my Gucci Dionysus chain-strap wallet I snagged in Charleston a few weeks ago,  gray suede booties, and my gold Ray-Ban aviator glasses.  My look is done, and life is good.

What Super Bowl looks are you rocking this weekend?
