Simple Hair Looks

Simple Hair Looks

Simple Hair Looks Scream Confidence.

Don’t you love wearing simple hair looks that require little to no-fuss on cold winter mornings? I certainly do!  There is nothing better than waking up on a cold morning and making a style decision based on the weather and your mood for the day. While it’s always best to have a fresh-cut or trim, experimenting with the season’s simple hair looks will offer you great, simple style versatility. While there are no limits of hassle free styles brandistas are currently rocking, here are my top 3 fuss free hair looks.

  •  Wash & Go- I’m a wash and go girl. Once my locks are clean, I follow-up with a moisturizing slip conditioner and finger comb my detangles.  Next,  I rotate between a protein pack and a hydrating moisturizer every other week. For the weeks that I add protein to my tresses, I immediately follow-up with a regular moisturizing conditioner. Once my hair is conditioned, I seal it with about a nickel size of coconut oil. Then, I allow my locks to air dry for about 10 minutes and follow-up with Mixed Chicks leave in conditioner. I allow that to absorb for 2-3 minutes and then apply a pea-size of Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding.  I run my fingers through my locks once again to evenly saturate the product and I’m ready for the world.
  • Top Knot- A nice center top knot is actually my favorite right now. I go back and forth between a curly top knot and a straighter look. Either, way it’s a simple and low maintenance option that is an awesome protective style for naturals. I use a hard bristle brush to brush my hair into a high ponytail in the center of my crown. I then place a sock bun around the base of the rubber band and fold my hair around the bun. I use about 3-4 bobby pins to secure my ends. I smooth out my edges with Aveda Paste and finish with a light mist of Aveda Air Control hairspray.
  • Hats- I’m a hat girl and I struggle on good hair days not to throw on one of many hats because I love the look. Whether it’s a baseball cap with my pony hanging from the back or less structured hat that allows for me to tuck all my hair or let a little hang. The benefits of wearing a hat are as versatile as the different looks you can achieve with a great one.

What are your favorite winter hair looks?
